With 40 years of experience in the welding industry, our family owned business provides repair services on any and all makes and models of welding and cutting equipment. We have the knowledge and equipment to provide expert repair service. With a focus on turn-around time, we aim to get your equipment back in operation as quicky as possible. We will do service calls, and offer free local pick-up and delivery. You can also ship us your equipment and we'll fix it.

We also buy and sell used welding equipment and can be your supplier for repair parts, consumables, and welding supplies. Give us a call!

About Us

Mike Huelsman is the owner and operator of Midwest Welding Equipment Repair. With 40 years of experience in the welding and cutting equipment industry, he has the knowledge and skills to provide expert repair service. Mike began his 20 year career with Hobart Brothers Co. testing and repairing production machines. He soon advanced into position of Service Administrator. The next 10 years he worked for Victor/Thermadyne in various roles including Service Manager. In these roles his responsibilities included writing service manuals, technical and customer support, engineering, and service training among others.  For the past 10 years Mike co-owned and operated C&M Welding Services, providing welding equipment service throughout the midwestern U.S. The partnership has since dissolved and led him to begin Midwest Welding Equipment Repair.

Mike has a unique knowledge of older Hobart and Thermal Arc equipment, and has provided consulting for special repair/setup of plasma welding systems to companies throughout the U.S.

He has attended all the major manufacturer’s service schools and is a certified service tech for these companies.
